Applesauce

 


2 tart cooking apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
1 cup unsweetened apple cider or juice
Zest of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon honey (optional)

 

1.    Place all the ingredients in small, heavy-bottomed saucepan and cook over medium heat 8 – 10 minutes, or until apples are tender.

2.     Puree apple mixture in food processor  or mash with a fork.


To serve warm, return to saucepan and reheat over low heat
or serve at room temperature.
