My husband, Jerry, and I have visited Belize twice: once chartering a sailboat and a second time to tour the ruins in the Cayo District.  Belize is a beautiful and safe country to visit.  The people are friendly and speak English.

As we were driving from Barton Creek toward Cahal Pech, I spotted this wonderful tree.  It was so majestic that I asked our guide to stop so I could photograph it.  I guess I know how to pick my trees for Bernaird, our guide explained , "The Ceiba tree is the sacred tree of the Maya:  its branches touch the heavens and its roots connect to the underworld."

San Ignacio is a very clean, multi-cultural, and prosperous city.
