                                              My Computer

                                           Anthropomorphic Essay

I am the computer of Jeremiah Noble Hankins IV.  I enjoy being Jeremiah’s computer, though he does abuse me sometimes.  He often will try to make me run programs and generate graphics that I am incapable of.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the challenge.  There is nothing worse than being a top of the line computer owned by an old lady who only uses you for word processing and to check her e-mail, but sometimes Jeremiah pushes me too hard.

The games that he runs leave my graphics card gasping for breath, and my CPU often passes out from exhaustion.  Jeremiah also seems to download a lot.  He is always upgrading my software, installing new programs, listening to music, and playing online games.  If I listen carefully, I can sometimes hear the external modem mumbling under its breath. It all seems so overwhelming at times.  When my RAM gets filled up, I get dizzy and cease functioning properly.

I still like Jeremiah even though he does all these things to me.  He never does it intentionally; he simply wants me to do my best. He fixes me when I break.  He stays by my side running virus scans and updating virus definitions when I am sick.  We also create the most wonderful things together.  Entire 3D worlds are waiting for us.  In one of his games he fights with up to 31 other people against a live enemy team.  When Jeremiah does well, all the other players are glad that he is playing with them, and this makes him happy.  When Jeremiah is happy, I too am happy because my sole purpose is to make Jeremiah feel good.
