The Pizza Puppy
By Jeremiah - 2nd grade
Once there was a pizza parlor. It was like any other pizza parlor except for one thing, they had a puppy for a waiter. His name was Rusty.
Rusty had a big white platform on his back. The chef would put the pizza on the white platform. Then Rusty would run across to the people who ordered it.
People called the chef Peppermint because he ate peppermints and tried to put pepper in everything he could.
One day a man came to the restaurant. His name was Mr. HW, that’s short for Hollywood. HW was fascinated with the puppy. He was fascinated with the way the puppy could walk up to the customer without being shown which customer it was.
Mr. HW asked the chef if he ever had had his picture in the morning newspaper. Peppermint said, “I never imagined being in the newspaper.”
Mr. HW said, “I can make you on the front page of the morning newspaper.”
“How?”
“Here’s the plan ...” whispered HW, “shwipipppp shwipipppp shwipipppp.”
“Oh, I get it! If you take Rusty to Hollywood, you can make him famous. So what’s the catch?”
“There is no catch.”
So Rusty took off and flew to Hollywood with Mr. HW. At the second show with Rusty doing all his tricks in Hollywood, Rusty decided he didn’t like doing tricks. So Rusty decided that in the jumping act, he would jump out of the window instead of into the sandbox. He would run down the street to Peppermint.
So he jumped as high as he could and ran down the street to Peppermint. As soon as Peppermint found him, he knew what was wrong. So Peppermint went to the airport with Rusty. He bought some immediate tickets back to the pizza parlor.
When they got back to the pizza parlor, Rusty decided to become chef, and he got an immediate ticket for a free pizza!
THE END!
