A recent visit in February, 2009 to Costa Rica was a dream come true. My senses were exhilarated by the richness of the vegetation and wildlife. Other than San Jose, our sole destination was Drake Bay in the Osa Peninsula region. It is one of the last great tracks of unspoiled primary rain forest in Central America. The majority of the peninsula remains without roads and is protected from being over developed. For these reasons the rain forest teams with life.
Within a week’s time I was able to photograph old growth forests, large stands of bamboo, boa constrictors, crocodiles, cayman, golden orb spiders, numerous types of monkeys and birds. As I was new to photography, I took my photos as jpeg images. I wish I had taken them in camera raw - a much better format for editing.
