Polliwog Park, Manhattan Beach, CA
I work close to Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach, CA, where gulls, ducks, and coots refresh themselves in the pond. It's nice to have a bit of nature close by, especially when you can see some beautiful birds such as the mallard with its iridescent dark green head. Because it is so common we often overlook what a beauty it is.
Because I photographed these mallards in spring, I also took pictures of the juveniles. Mallards are, for the most part, monogomous.
