   Birds of Prey

Birds of prey hunt for food  on the wing relying on their keen sense of vision. Large talons and beaks tear and pierce the flesh of their prey.   The diurnal birds of prey, which are active during the day and sleep at night, include hawks, eagles, falcons, ospreys, and vultures.  Various owls make up the nocturnal birds of prey.
