Sequoia National Park
I love to camp in the Sequoias and Redwoods. I especially love waking up a to the smell of a fresh brewed cup of coffee and being surrounded by evergreens.
In Sequoia National Park, Dorst Campground is our favorite; however, you have to pick carefully to find sites that are not on top of each other. I am making these notes here for my future reference: Campsite 14 is very secluded, but you need to walk in to the site with all your camping gear. You need to do the same for campsite 20, but the walk is shorter. Campsite 17, in which we stayed, has a great view of mountains in the distance.
From Dorst's amphitheater, there is a fabulous two mile walk to the sequoias. Leave early in the morning to avoid seeing many people on the trail.
